NICOLE'S STORY

I am now entering my second month as an intern at ABC Events and what better time to tell you all about my experience here so far as our new and exciting website launches!

My name is Nicole and I am currently in my 3rd year at University studying Events Management with Entrepreneurship, and loving it! As a part of my University degree it has been requested that I complete a 6 month Event Management Placement, so until July I will be the fabulous ABC Events Intern.

Right from my very first week at ABC Events I was put to the challenge and given the opportunity and responsibility to manage my own team of event staff across a variety of client Events. Working alongside our Managing Director Bob and Sales Manager Kirsty, I was given the opportunity to learn directly from them about the high level of customer service expected and the ABC way of doing things. This also allowed me to utilise and my skills and traits as an Event Manager as well as develop new skills such as more detailed client handling and health and safety.

So one month in and many successful events under my belt, as you can probably guess, my head is bursting with new and exciting information about Event Management and ABC Events.

I have always been extremely passionate about my career as it is rare to find a job that excites you every day, so to be able to work in such an exciting company alongside such equally passionate people, I feel very blessed. Now, over the next 5 months I will do my very best to do as much as I can to develop at ABC Events and reach my full potential as an event manager. As ABC Events also develops, I hope to gain more and more skills to be able to further my career within the events industry. Through managing teams of event staff and working with new and existing clients I hope to broaden my communication skills, organisational skills and build a strong working relationship that will in turn create a solid foundation for me as I become a fully qualified Event Manager. By the end of my internship at ABC Events I hope to have shifted the title of intern/student and be known and respected as a successful and trustworthy Event Manager, just a month in to my placement, I know this is well within my grasp.

It is now March and we are nearing our busiest months, I am nothing but excited to get wired in and experience the Event industry at a fast pace every day. Right from the get go I have been soaking up information and developing my skills in the ABC Events office, working behind the scenes contacting clients, generating bespoke proposals and handling sales, which I have loved. Now with summer fast approaching it is nearing the time where I can really shine, and prove to the team at ABC Events that I have truly earned internship. I am very excited about the coming months meeting with the many venues and clients I have already spoken with and helping in broadening the team of Event staff we have been interviewing and taking them through the ABC Training Academy which I have played a major role in developing and creating, passing my passion on to the new recruits as we build an even stronger team at ABC Events.

Let’s do this, WE ARE ABC!
